Update on Baby Jack Willem
It is our hope for this class site to provide a window into the great work that God is accomplishing in the lives of so many families. Some of God’s great works are through trials and others through blessings. As we consider the joys and the pains of each other’s lives, we will have the opportunity to weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice.
Here’s an encouraging update from Carey Willem on the recent blessing of baby Jack, born on June 9th,
Jack is great. He really is a good baby. Basically he wakes up to eat and have his diaper changed. He pretty much sleeps the rest of the time. Karis loves being a big sister. She always wants to know what he’s doing and is trying to hold him. The adjustment to becoming a family of 4 hasn’t been that difficult yet. When Danny’s not here to help me I might change my story. I don’t think we can say enough how much we appreciate everyone bringing us meals last week. It was so nice not to have to think about what we were going to eat. In a few more weeks we should be back around.
Stop by the Willem’s blog to learn more about Jack.
Featured Couple: Ryan and Emily Perz
Every so often, one of the couples from our class shares their testimony. This week, Ryan and Emily Perz shared the story of where they’re from, how they met, a bit about their family, and their passion for doing the work of their Father. It was encouraging to hear them tell about the foundations upon which they built their marriage, and great for us to see them living out their calling with their son Elijah.![]()
Spring Fellowship Meal - 6/10/07
Like any self-respecting Southern Baptists, we know how to party! Check out the spread! There were sandwiches galore, a killer stew, salads and fruits, and of course, plenty of dessert! If you missed it… well… you missed it!
Not only was the food delicious, but the fellowship time was especially sweet, as you can see in the pictures. Unfortunately, pictures don’t do it justice. The room smelled great (partially due to the simmering stew), and sounds of laughter and animated conversation filled the room, accented by the periodic shrieks of joy by the kiddos running around the room.
For more, click on the pictures (and read the captions)… Better yet, come to the next meal!

The happiest place on the internet!
Web sites are windows into hearts. News sites provide a view into the daily happenings of the world, the wonder of human existence and the tragedy of its fallen state. More personally, blogs, MySpace pages and Facebook walls provide a view into the thoughts and the wants of individual people. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and most web sites tell the story of life without hope and without God in the world.
That’s why truly Christian web sites are the happiest places on the internet. They are made by the kind of people who actually believe that nothing can separate them from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
This, we hope, is one of those places. Wellumscouples.com is the new internet hub for those Christian couples that populate Dr. Wellum’s Adult Bible Fellowship at Ninth and O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
The purpose of this site is two fold:
First, this site exists to build up and strengthen our marriages by supporting and enhancing the ministry that’s already taking place among the members of our class. Here you can…
download audio from Sunday’s teaching view photos from class gatherings get directions to events and learn of opportunities to minister the gospel within our class, throughout the church and throughout our community.
In addition to building up the body, this site also exists to magnify the worth of Christ among the lost in Louisville through the public enjoyment of the gospel in the right ordering of individuals and families according to the goodness, the truthfulness and the beauty of God’s Word. In future months, couples will share of how Christ brought them to himself and how he satisfies them with himself today.
The world wide web of words is a window into the hearts of its inhabitants. May the words on this site speak from the abundance of hearts that revel in the glory of God because they are full in His Son, Jesus Christ. When this is true, this site will be the happiest place on the internet.
