Service

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are a kingdom of priests, each of us gifted by God’s Spirit for service among his people, for the sake of his kingdom. Service is the calling and joy of every Christian. In the context of our class, we find ourselves serving in many ways that never make it to paper, in ways that were never planned. But in a class of our size, it makes sense to organize ourselves to make sure that a few important kinds of service happen in an intentional and organized fashion.

Here are some of the ways that we serve one another in the gospel;

Missions
Nick and Jennifer Miersma, with the help of Adam and Andi Graig, lead our class in praying for the nations and for those who have gone out from our class for the sake of the name. [Contact: jennogreen[at]hotmail[dot]com]

Sunday Hospitality
Emily Perz coordinates the weekly breakfast rotation. She schedules two families to bring breakfast each week, informs them of proper amounts and sends out a reminder the week of their assignment. [Contact: perzette[at]gmail[dot]com].

Class-wide Socials
Chris and Stephanie Dilley coordinate four class-wide events per year (Fall Kick-off, Christmas party at the Wellums, and a Spring and a Summer social). They also coordinate three fellowship lunches annually (Fall, Spring, Summer). [Contact: thedilleys[at]gmail[dot]com]

Class Photography
Jeff Marshman, with the help of Jennifer Miersma and anyone else with a camera, photographs the various happenings within our class, posts an event summary after class-wide events, and makes available those photos for our membership. Alumni Relations
Karen Wellum keeps our class current on the whereabouts, prayer needs and ministry situations of graduates of Wellum’s Couples. [Contact: kwellum[at]insightbb[dot]com]

The Bee Hive
Brice Land leads our class in ministry to the BeeHive, an assisted living facility, where various of our members throughout the year lead these precious people in a Monday afternoon study of Scripture. Encouragement through Cards
This individual or couple represent our class in honoring couples on their anniversary and individuals on their respective birthdays through the old fashioned personal touch of cards. Contract the director if you are interested in this role.

Evangelism
This individual or couple leads our class in faithful support of Ninth and O’s vision for a gospel presence in our community through Upward Soccer and other church wide efforts. Contact the director if you are interested in this role.

Women’s Ministry
Lauren Helfenbein works with our ladies to coordinate three women’s events annually with the goal of encouraging women in their roles as women, wives and as mothers. Men’s Ministry
Tory Giddens works with our men to coordinate three men’s events annually with the goal of encouraging men in their roles as men, husband and fathers. [Contact: tdgiddens[at]gmail[dot]com]

Assimilation
